Nowadays, we witness people who claim they love Jesus, but not the church. These people seem to be increasing in our society and the number of people in the church seems to be decreasing. How do you feel about this? How do you perceive this situation? Some Christians defend the necessity of the church by blaming these people’s lack of faith. Others nod their heads, pointing out countless problems of the church community. For me, it is hard to agree on their argument about the church. However, at the same time, I deeply understand why they talk in this way. Our position on these people’s argument, “love Jesus, but not the church”, leads us to ask: what is the church? While I studied Apostle Paul’s life and ministry, I found his response defines the church, but also “love Jesus, but not the church.”
