“You shall be holy, for I am holy.” (Leviticus 11:45) As adopted children of God through the blood of Jesus Christ, we should be holy as Jesus showed in his life on earth. The Wesleyan understanding of salvation, called ‘the Way of Salvation’, teaches us that holiness is an important aspect of salvation. If so, how can we attain or reach holiness in our lives? John Wesley was obsessed with being holy and devoted his whole life to finding ways to make himself holy and spread this holiness all over the world. His ceaseless effort towards holiness led Wesley to find various ways to be holy, called “Means of Grace.” While learning about these means of grace, let’s see how many means of grace we practice in our spiritual journey and what means of grace would be beneficial for us now.
