New Life UMC has an active Mission Team that coordinates impactful projects to help us serve locally, nationally, and internationally.
The following list is just a taste of the types of mission projects we are undertaking here.
Aluminum Can Recycling – Friends and neighbors of New Life UMC are encouraged to bring their aluminum cans for recycling to the City Site and add them to our bin. Our can crew goes through the bags and brings them to the recycling facility. All money raised is put toward various mission projects locally, nationally, and internationally. Thank you for helping with missions by adding your aluminum cans to the bin!
Annual Conference Ingathering – Each year at our Annual Conference, churches are asked to donate items for people in need or people suffering from disasters. The conference works with Midwest Mission Distribution Center to collect items for the Personal Dignity Kits and Home Care Kits. Midwest Mission distributes the kits locally, nationally and internationally to those in need during times of crisis. All supplies are given free of charge regardless of gender, race or religion.
Operation Christmas Child – The mission of Operation Christmas Child is to demonstrate God’s love in a tangible way to children in need around the world. Through this project, Samaritan’s Purse partners with the local church worldwide to share the Good News of Jesus Christ and make disciples of the nations. This whole process is made possible by caring individuals who pack shoeboxes full of quality gifts for children in need. Boxes are due in mid-November to be delivered to a local church that serves as a drop-off location before the boxes are sent to a processing center where they are inspected and prepared for international shipment.

Quarterly Mission – Each quarter, the church council votes on a mission project to support with a donation. Contact the church office to see the current recipient.
Teacher TLC – We are collecting specific school supplies to provide to teachers at Black Creek Elementary/Middle School and Rock Ledge Elementary.
UMCOR (United Methodist Committee On Relief) – As the humanitarian relief and development arm of The United Methodist Church, UMCOR assists United Methodists and churches to become involved globally in direct ministry to persons in need. UMCOR comes alongside those who suffer from natural or human-caused disasters – famine, hurricane, war, flood, fire or other events—to alleviate suffering and serve as a source of help and hope for the vulnerable. UMCOR provides relief, response and long-term recovery grants when events overwhelm a community’s ability to recover on their own. UMCOR also provides technical support and training for partners to address emerging and ongoing issues related to disaster relief, recovery, and long-term health and development.
Worship Volunteers – Worship volunteers help during worship at New Life UMC by reading scripture, ushering, doing children’s time, running the video equipment, etc. They are valuable assets to the worship experience. Contact the office to see how you can help!
