Sunday, January 12th: Love Never Ends: Well Pleased The words that were spoken to Jesus, as he was in prayer after his baptism, echo in the silence of our moments, even to this day. They weren’t Jesus’ words, or our words, or any human words. They were God’s words, and they said simply, “I love you. I have called you by name. You are mine.” They were words of affirmation, not for deeds done or not done, but for being – just for being. “I love you” – words to hear in the midst of darkness, words to cling to in the midst of doubt. In the confusing turmoil of life, we hear, and then, by grace, we speak these words to others; they are all we really have: “I love you. You are my beloved, and with you I am well pleased!”
