Jesus died for us as an act of love, and we called to courageously love other people with the living love of God. The kind of love that abides in God overrides differences, guidelines, rules, and regulations. The love of God, as expressed when people love one another, isn’t a love that worries about either the reason for loving someone, or what’ll be received in return. Instead, it’s a gift, it’s the basis of life and the basis of all relationships. There’s no need to live in fear, if we are loving God and living in love. The gospel’s answer to our obsessive problems of anxiety and meaninglessness is simple: God is love!
