Jesus used the Parable of the Prodigal Son to teach about forgiveness and God’s compassionate love. After Jesus’ resurrection, he gave his disciples the ability, that now all believers have, to forgive sins in his name. There’s no greater compassion than giving forgiveness, and no greater peace than receiving forgiveness. It is, quite possibly, one of the greatest gifts God has given us. During this first week of Lent, you’re invited to reflect on how Jesus’ power of forgiveness impacts your daily life. You’re also encouraged to attend worship this week, either in-person or online, and be renewed with the compassionate love of God!
